Grain & Graphite

OERLIKON (ZH), Switzerland

A compact open-plan apartment in Zurich Oerlikon, designed for a bachelor who wanted a space that feels generous despite its footprint.

The kitchen cabinetry was deliberately kept to one side, leaving the opposite wall open to preserve visual breathing room and maintain an easy flow between cooking, dining, and living. Warm oak cabinetry meets dark stone surfaces and charcoal dining furniture, creating the grain and graphite contrast that defines the space. An oversized pendant and a single piece of abstract art bring just enough personality without crowding the calm.

The result is a minimal, considered interior where smart restraint creates the feeling of space.
